I have been a qualified nurse for over 27 years. Most of my clinical experience has focused on caring for critically ill children and their families. This experience has been gained across the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
In 2012, I graduated with a PhD from the University of Melbourne. Four years ago I returned to the United Kingdom and I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Children's Nursing. I am a member of the Royal College of Nursing’s Children and Young People’s Acute Care forum. I advocate for increased NHS and social care resources. This is to support our growing ageing population and the incredible sacrifices that family and carers make in supporting younger and older people.
I have a long-standing interest in environmental issues. This includes seeing first-hand Great Barrier Reef destruction and increased flooding of Venice. Whilst in Australia I was part of action on climate change and attended climate rallies. On my return to London I joined the Green Party. When I moved to SW19 I joined Merton Green Party and recently joined Sustainable Merton.
As your Green Party candidate for Lavender Fields I would like to bring a fresh approach to Merton Council. To the council I can bring innovative worldview solutions to our local issues. I strongly value and promote - in all aspects of my work - fairness, equality and respect. I am committed to help deliver on the Merton Green Party manifesto. Through this I will help clean up #MuckyMerton, champion affordable housing, help improve Merton’s air quality, and campaign for safer streets.
Be part of taking action in Lavender Fields that not only improves your environment, but improves The Environment. Please vote Green on May 3rd.
