I'm Kenneth and have been living in Colliers Wood for just over two years. My friends and I were looking for somewhere to live that suited our commutes to work. They travel to Kingston and I travel to central London where I work for an international childrens' charity. We were torn where to choose but after walking around Colliers Wood in late summer sunshine and after going for a quick drink in the Charles Holden pub, there was never going to be anywhere else for us!.
We all love staying here. I quickly got involved in the local Green Party and this was a great way of meeting new friends and helping to improve the local area in ways like our monthly litter pick in Wandle Park. While we have so much to be grateful for in Colliers Wood, from nearby Merton Abbey Mills to the river Wandle and Wandle Park, from Coffee in the Wood to our great shopping areas, there are lots of opportunities to make Colliers Wood a better place to live in - and make the council take more notice of us! In my spare time I go cycling and jogging and I am an active campaigner for cleaner air for for all London.
I am the first of three Green Party candidates for Colliers Wood ward. I am pleased to be standing with Charles Barraball and Harriet Edwards.
